Phindile Phewa, known on stage and air as Phindi P.
A South African performing artist and media personality: gospel recording artist, radio presenter, television host and master of ceremonies.
A voice trusted across four mediums
Phindi P is a multi-talented South African performing artist and media personality: an award-winning gospel recording artist, an accomplished radio presenter, a television host and an established master of ceremonies.
She currently hosts Ulibo Lokuqala on SABC's Ukhozi FM, South Africa's largest radio station, weekdays from 03:00–05:00, and launched Ebukhoneni, her Sunday morning show, in 2025. She has also served as a television host on gospel programming and appeared as an actress in Mzansi Magic's Durban Gen.
Her music has carried her across the African continent and internationally, sharing stages with artists including VaShawn Mitchell and Benjamin Dube. In recent years she's won the African Inspirational Gospel Award (Nigeria, 2024) and African Female Artist of the Year at the Ladies in Media Awards (Kenya).
On the airwaves
Radio is where most of South Africa first meets Phindi P, in the dark, early hours before sunrise, guiding listeners into their day with Ulibo Lokuqala. It's a slot that demands consistency: the same warmth, the same discipline, five mornings a week, on a station that reaches millions. Ebukhoneni extends that relationship into Sunday mornings, built around reflection, worship music and community.
On the stage
As a recording artist, she writes and performs gospel music aimed squarely at the moment it's needed most: a worship set that can open a stadium show or close a small church service with the same conviction. That range is what's taken her onto stages alongside established names in African gospel, and into rooms far beyond South Africa's borders.
On screen
Beyond music and radio, Phindi P has hosted television gospel programming and stepped in front of the camera as an actress, appearing in Mzansi Magic's Durban Gen. It's the same instinct that carries across every medium she works in: hold the room, read the moment, deliver.
